

Indian vice-captain Hardik Pandya revealed that he is slowly but steadily getting ready to bowl more overs for India in the ODI World Cup later this year. The 29-year-old led the Indian team in the absence of Rohit Sharma in the 2nd ODI, where they lost the game to Men in Maroon by the six-wickets in Barbados.

The stand-in skipper bowled 7 overs in the 2nd ODI opening the bowling for India, Speaking on his bowling going into the mega event, Hardik Pandya is aware that he has a major role to play with the ball in the World Cup and revealed that he slowly building to bowl well in during the mega event in India.

“I have to bowl more overs to get ready for the World Cup. Being a turtle at the moment, not a rabbit. Hoping everything goes well during the World Cup,” Hardik Pandya said.
Coming into the 2nd game of the three-match series, India opted to rest their senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as they gave a chance to fringe Indian players, who are looking to seal their place in the ODI World Cup squad. The Windies bowlers kept consistently bowling in proper line and length to rattle the batters with their bowling, to bowl out the Indian team for 181 runs.
Besides, in the batting innings, skipper Shai Hope took the responsibility to finish the game for the side alongside Keacy Carty to keep the three-matches series alive on home soil.

Hardik Pandya admitted that good teams will be tested on these types of conditions, where the surface was on the slower side, and reckons that the next game would be an interesting one as both teams would come up with all guns blazing to win the series.

“They will be tested, we will be tested now that the series stands 1-1. The next game will be exciting for the viewers as well as the players,” Hardik Pandya added.
India and West Indies will go to Trinidad and Tobago to play the final game of the series after playing the first two in Barbados.
It will be interesting to see which team comes up at the top at the final ODI to win the series as this series win would be a good morale boost for India going into the Asia Cup 2023 whereas West Indies looks for this opportunity to win the series and bring some confidence into the team after failing to qualify for the ODI World Cup later this series.
