

India is likely to begin their campaign of the much anticipated Asia Cup 2023 against the arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in the first round of the group stage in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The opening game is set to be played between the hosts Pakistan and Nepal on August 30.
As of now, all the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan are suspended due to political and security reasons. The arch-rivals do not play any bilateral series against each other and only take on each other during ICC events or Asia Cup.
The event would be conducted under the hybrid concept, as suggested by the PCB. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suggested the hybrid concept, where they intended to host the competition together with a neutral venue after the BCCI indicated that India would not travel to Pakistan for the competition.
According to reports, Lahore & Multan will likely host matches in Pakistan whereas Kandy and Dambulla will get matches in Sri Lanka.

The tournament shall be played between August 30 and September 17 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka as the Asia Cup 2023 joint. The announcement was delayed for various reasons with the venue being the biggest concern after BCCI announced that Team India will not visit Pakistan for the tournament citing security reasons.
The two giants of Asian cricket are set to clash in the ODI formats in the forthcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023 later this year in India. The India-Pakistan games in cricket are one of the most anticipated matches in the cricket team across any format of the game, as it offers many memories for fans worldwide.
