“I really enjoyed my knock, but I feel my best is (yet) to come. I really want to continue this form, I am finally getting a chance to play. If you see one or two years back, I was not getting a chance to play. If I can’t play consistently then how will I show how I can play and what shots I have in my arsenal,” said Rahane.

Coming into bat in the 8th over, Rahane joined with New Zealand’s Devon Conway in the middle to take on the bowlers to cleaners, with Conway being dismissed for 56(40) in the 13th over, Rahane along with Shivam Dube to produce a partnership of 85 runs off just 38 balls to help Chennai Super Kings to post a highest total of 235-4 in IPL 2023 against two-time champions.
