Watch: Furious Australian Cricketer Throws His Bat And Helmet Away In Anger After Getting Out Via Mankad, Teammates Storm Out On The Field Too

The batsmen was furious with the dismissal and threw his bat

A Tasmanian cricketer lost his cool after being run out by the bowler at the non-striker’s end. The mode of dismissal which is popularly known as ‘Mankad’ is well within the laws of the game but many including a lot of cricketers believe that it is against the spirit of the game.

Originally the mode of dismissal was classified under Law 41 (Unfair Play). However, with every instance of run-out of a non-striker by the bowler in his delivery stride leading to controversy, the MCC decided to de-stigmatise the practice. Consequently, the mode of dismissal was moved to Law 38 (Run out) although the rules remained the same.

The bowlers have the green light of running out the batsmen at the non-striker’s end if they decide to take undue advantage by leaving the crease before the ball is delivered.

Tasmanian batsman furious after getting out via a Mankad:

In the latest instance of a player getting out via Mankad, the batsman who found himself at the receiving end ended up losing his cool and reacted in a bizarre manner. The incident took place in a local game in Australia. In the clip posted by Fox Cricket on Twitter, the bowler was not fully into his stride but still decided to take the bails off when the batsmen started walking out of the crease.

The umpire followed the rule and raised his finger before the batsmen decided to vent his anger and frustration. As he was making his way out of the field, he tossed his bat in the air in anger before doing the same with his gloves and helmet.

He was also seen saying something angrily to the bowling team before his teammates also walked out on the field. The teammates were not convinced with the dismissal either and were seen expressing their frustration over the same.
